So we were chatting with a friend the other day who did a short stint as a telemarketer. So we asked them how they got the information to people to call especially since almost everyone we know is on the National do-not-call list. She told us that whenever we fill in ones of those oh so enticing offers where we could get an iPhone or iPad free or even a 46″ TV free our information is collected into a database and sold to telemarketing companies.
So caveat emptor – which means for those of you who don’t speak Latin – Let the buyer beware. If the offer seems to good to be true then it probably is!
